So at the start of the year (or maybe the end of December), did you sit down and set a whole lot of resolutions you wanted to achieve this year?

How are those going? Have you smashed them out of the park already, or not so much? I’m not a huge fan of “Resolutions”, as they are always so temporary, as if you don’t hit them immediately, it’s never going to happen, and come February, the gyms are empty again, and there’s a whole lot of disillusioned people around, feeling like they failed, miserably.

That’s not to say I don’t set goals every year. I set HEAPS of goals! But I just don’t set wild, crazy ones that I’m going to give up on, or that are unrealistic.

I’ve set some personal ones – around my fitness, being more organised around the house, and around how I treat myself.

And I’ve set business ones – to streamline more so I’m not running around like a nutcase all the time – to better organise my time, for the same reason. To add in some new services which are all planned out, I just need time to implement them – the goal for these is to be live and available before May.

Lots of things! But I make sure I give myself a timeline, or that it’s something to be worked on weekly. You will also notice that I haven’t set a weight loss goal. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a number in the back of my mind, but I’m more focused on the big picture – health, fitness, happiness etc. The weight comes off slowly, but it’s coming off, and I’m ok with that, as I know that I’m making the right changes to my lifestyle and it will happen in time, but for now – my body is thanking me in other ways: energy, happiness, skin etc.

It really is up to you how you want to focus yourself, what is important. You can focus on how hard it is to lose weight, how you will never earn enough money, finding a good partner is impossible. But whatever you’re focusing on, thinking about, that’s what’s going to happen. So why not work on changing it?
