I took the kids on a roadie in the holidays, just the 3 of us. We went and stayed 5 days with my Dad, who moved down there in Level 3 Lockdown.
Rather than a big long post about what we did and when, I will just show you some photos. Napier is a really beautiful place, and I can’t believe it’s taken me almost 39 years to visit there.
This was the furthest I’ve ever driven myself, and I have to admit, I was nervous!! But we made it there and back with no issues, had a stop off in Taupo on both trips.
We were lucky to get an absolute cracker of a day, absolutely beautiful.
Made it safely to Napier with a couple of hours daylight to spare! The playgrounds along the waterfront are awesome! We spent a couple of hours there trying everything out. Sunset from Cape Kidnappers, looking back towards Napier.Cape Kidnappers.First morning sunrise from Dad’s place in Te Hauke.Te Mata Peak. My boy now has a new favourite place, he kept asking to go back!Sunrise Morning 2 was even more spectacular!Birdwoods. So many cool sculptures, and a LOLLY SHOP!Aquarium visit. Mister D’s Bistro. Pretty amazing doughnuts, that come to you freshly cooked, then you inject the sauce/flavour yourself. Our last day, just went exploring in the rain.
That’s just some of the highlights. I’m sure there’s still a lot to see, and we will most definitely be back to explore some more!
