Well, obviously I’ve done it before. Numerous times. But not for a while. I generally try to follow most of the guidelines on a day to day basis, anyway. But it’s been a while since I’ve run through it for the full 10 weeks and written about it and physically used the checklist. In fact I don’t think I’ve EVER kept a diary of it!! Not one that I share with the world, at least.

Lockdown was a bit of a ‘mare for many of us, let’s be honest. It was just so easy to EAT!!! And eat.

And eat some more.

And nap.

What can I say? I’m human!

Then right as lockdown ended, and the kids went back to school, I decided that was a GREAT time to come off the contraceptive pill, after being on it for most of the last 22 years (except when I was pregnant or on the injection – that was even worse!!) So I’ve spent the last 4 weeks feeling bloated and super emotional. More on that in another post.

But now, that all seems to be calming down, the kids are back into to a routine, and things are ticking along nicely. But I still feel pretty rubbish.

I’ve gotten back to pre-lockdown eating habits, which are far better than the lockdown version! Still plenty of room for improvement, I was on the way there beforehand, then I let it all slide.

Exercise, well it was pretty sporadic during Level 3 and 4. Leading up to it, I was walking 16km at a time, then injured my toe. Who would have thought 16km will almost break you when your 2nd toe gets sore 5km in? But walking is well and truly back on the plan these last few weeks, and it’s so nice to be getting out and about.

But it’s the resistance training that I’ve been missing. Funny enough, I actually have no excuse for not doing it. I have a full gym set up downstairs!!! I think I’ve just been so focused on the walking, the weights work has just slipped away.

But I really miss it.

So exercise-wise, I still intend to keep the walks going, but weights workouts need to come back in. I miss feeling like a badass bitch when I have a workout! I’m naturally pretty strong, when I’m not working around injuries, so I can’t wait to get back to that.
